Wednesday Wisdom: Internal Timing 1/14/15

Is your internal timing off?  Today’s Sacred Path Card, Drum, indicates that we may be ‘out of sync’. Sometimes our desire to accomplish too much causes us to push so hard, we lose our rhythm and feel “out of sorts.” We can be overloaded with thoughts and emotions, resulting in a misalignment with the energy of our bodies.

And, boy, this card is so “right on” with me today. I had a situation earlier that threw me “for a loop” and since then, I felt like my timing was off.

So how do we get back in balance?  Usually, it requires us to slow down. Here are examples of ways to do this:

  • drum. Drumming connects our heartbeat with that of Earth Mother. It can take us back to reconnect to the first sound we ever heard, our Mother’s heartbeat in the womb.  This cellular memory can restore the feeling of being nurtured and protected, thus relieving stress. Drumming circle opportunities exist in almost every area. Not only does it help with personal stress relief and restoring one’s rhythm and balance, but it is a collective energy that creates community building. For those living in the Allentown, PA area, the Lehigh Valley Drum Circle is a local drumming circle facilitated by Moe Jerant and is not only a stress reliever, but lots of fun!
  • meditate. Get quiet and focus on your breath.  As you become aware of your inhalation and exhalation of each breath, you are in the present moment.  If thoughts about the past or future enter your mind, simply go back to the awareness of your breath.  Eventually, with practice, this will lead to balance, expanded consciousness and peace of mind.
  • network spinal analysis. This is a revolutionary technique that helps one release old energetic patterns that keep us from experiencing our full potential. Halfway through writing this blog today, I had an appointment with Dr. Kell Morton, certified NSA practitioner.  After 30 minutes of his incredible energy work, I walked away feeling, like “myself” again, centered and grounded. The energy that is going into my writing now is flowing, freely and effortlessly.
  • nature. Go outside and connect with Mother Earth. Sit on the ground and simply listen to your heartbeat sync with that of the Earth Mother. Hug a tree and feel as if you, too, have roots growing from your feet down deeply into the Earth. Mother Earth will replenish you with the energy that you need and adjust your imbalance.

When I pulled this card today, I knew immediately what it was referring to.  And, the fact that you are reading this, it is for you, too!

The bottom line is that we need to restore balance by slowing down. So if you find yourself  ‘out of sync’ this week, try one or more of these techniques and watch how quickly you will be able to get back in the “flow.”
