Peyote Ceremony

New Abilities

This week’s Sacred Path Card that was pulled for Wednesday Wisdom is the “Peyote Ceremony” card.  This card represents HOPE…

When the Native Americans were stripped of their land and customs at the end of the Trail of Tears, many lived in fear of the White People stealing their souls as their spirits had been broken. However, Mescalito (peyote) became a Sacred Plant Medicine shortly thereafter which helped them see beyond the Void with the ability to visit the “Other Side.” They no longer feared death and now knew their souls would live forever.

Death in the body or to the ego is the first step to rebirth.  If you recall, last week’s card was “Shaman’s Death,” which depicted the ending of a cycle.  This week’s card is now propelling us to look to the crack in the Universe and recognize our immortality.  Once you see this truth and touch eternity, you will be able to see your abilities and talents, confront your fears, and move into who you are and what you are here to do.

IMG_20151209_215141The Water Bird is the Totem of the Peyote Ceremony.  This bird sees its reflection in the pond, goes deep to the universe of consciousness, examines it, and attacks its fears. This ritual has allowed for a re-connection to Great Mystery in a sacred manner.
Although many people can “travel” to the crack in the Universe without the aid of Peyote, we can still respect the right of others to practice their rites and ceremonies. It is a time to share what we have learned form our Sacred Points of View without trying to alter the opinions of others.  Honoring all abilities in Self and in others is essential for the pathway to peace.

This card puts you on notice that opportunities to discover the Self and for expansive growth are now possible.  Do not limit yourself.  You are MORE than you think you are. Conquer limitation in your mind and know that all goals are possible!

Love,

Kathleen
